Log Book Service
Most RVs now come with a specific maintenance and servicing manual. Our servicing is comprehensive and will not void your manufacturers warranty. Our service technicians take great care to follow manual guidelines ensuring we use the correct sealants and lubricants recommended by the manufacturer.
Annual Service
Are you heading away on a long awaited holiday? Book your RV in with Accurate Caravans for a Platinum Service before you head off. Holiday with peace of mind knowing your RV has been comprehensively serviced.
Our Platinum Service includes:
- Remove the wheels, dust caps, split pins and castle nuts
- Remove the brake drums and bearings
- Inspect and clean the brake shoes and magnets
- Roughen the brake linings to assist with re-bedding after servicing
- Remove the rear grease seals from the drums to access and remove the rear bearings
- Degrease and clean the hubs for inspection
- Degrease and inspect the bearing rollers and cones for:
- Wear
- Signs of heat damage
- Dulling of the case hardening
- Scoring or scarring caused by contaminants
- Re-grease and pack the bearings with new grease, then reinstall them in the drums
- Install new grease seals
- Reinstall the drums onto the axle, tighten and adjust the castle nuts, install new split pins and fit the grease caps
- Adjust the brake shoes to the drums
- Inspect the springs and suspension bushes for wear and excessive movement
- Refit the wheels and torque the wheel nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications
- Check and adjust tyre pressures
- Inspect the tyres for condition and wear, including sidewall damage and uneven wear
- Check the breakaway battery
- Check that all trailer lights are operational.
- Visually inspect the trailer plug.
- Adjust the handbrake travel.
